3105 aluminum: sheet and coil for construction made in Mexico
3105 aluminum is the most widely used alloy in construction: it contains 0.30 to 0.8% manganese and 0.20 to 0.8% magnesium, per The Aluminum Association. It goes into facades, ceilings, profiles, blinds, roofing and gutters, and takes paint well. Almexa casts and rolls it in Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico, as coil, sheet, circles, strip and blanks from 0.0177 to 0.1575 in (0.45 to 4.0 mm).

3105 belongs to the 3000 series but contains less manganese than 3003, plus magnesium. Its strength is equal to or slightly higher than 3003.
It is the alloy of construction sheet and sheet for painting. Like every alloy Almexa makes, it is non heat treatable: strength is set by the temper.

3105 or 3003
Both work for roofing. 3105 is the most common for roofing, gutters and sheet for painting: it contains manganese and magnesium, has equal or slightly higher strength than 3003 and takes paint well. 3003 fits parts with heavy forming or tight bends.
Which 3105 temper to order
For facades, H14 for tight-radius formed parts and H16 for large flat panels with controlled flatness. We make sheet from 0.020 in (0.5 mm); for thinner gauges, coil or strip from 0.0177 in (0.45 mm).
What 3105 aluminum is used for
- Facades, ceilings, profiles and blinds (Construction: 3105 H14 / H16)
- Stamped parts, brackets, transport bodies (Automotive and transportation: 3003 / 3105 H14)
- Thick bases, pans and rigid parts (Cookware: 3004 / 3105)
- Line coil for slitting and distribution (Service centers and re-rollers: 1050 / 1100 / 3003 / 3105)

Frequently asked questions
What is 3105 aluminum?
It is a 3000 series aluminum alloy with 0.30 to 0.8% manganese and 0.20 to 0.8% magnesium, per The Aluminum Association. It is the most widely used alloy in construction: facades, ceilings, profiles, blinds, roofing and gutters.
What sizes of 3105 aluminum does Almexa make?
Coil from 0.0177 to 0.1575 in (0.45 to 4.0 mm) and 6.30 to 48 in wide; sheet from 0.0197 to 0.1575 in, up to 48 × 120 in; and circles from 0.0220 to 0.1575 in and 5.51 to 48 in in diameter, per the September 2026 technical sheet.
Which aluminum alloy is best for roofing, 3003 or 3105?
Both work. 3105 is the most common for roofing, gutters and sheet for painting: it contains manganese and magnesium, has equal or slightly higher strength than 3003 and takes paint well. 3003 fits parts with heavy forming or tight bends. Almexa makes both in coil and sheet.
Which 3105 temper is used for facades?
H14 for tight-radius formed parts and H16 for large flat panels with controlled flatness. We make sheet from 0.020 in (0.5 mm); for thinner gauges, coil or strip from 0.0177 in (0.45 mm).
