Aluminum alloys made by Almexa
1100 aluminum: sheet, coil and circles made in Mexico
1100 aluminum is 99.00% minimum purity aluminum with 0.05 to 0.20% copper, per The Aluminum Association. It is the most ductile alloy Almexa makes: it deep draws, spins and bends easily, conducts heat well and resists corrosion, with low mechanical strength. Almexa casts and rolls it in Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico, as coil, sheet, circles, strip and blanks from 0.0177 to 0.1575 in (0.45 to 4.0 mm).

1100 belongs to the 1000 series: nearly pure aluminum with no main alloying element. That is why it is the easiest to form and the best conductor, and also the least strong.
It is the alloy of deep drawn or spun cookware, insulation and cladding. When a part needs more stiffness, the natural step up is a 3000 series alloy.

1100 or 3003
3003 adds 1.0 to 1.5% manganese: it is stronger with nearly the same formability. For deep drawing and spinning cookware, 1050 or 1100 in O temper is used; for parts that need stiffness, 3003 or 3105.
Which 1100 temper to order
O (annealed), the softest, for deep drawing, spinning and tight bends; H14 when the part is formed less and needs some stiffness, as in heat shields, cladding and facades. The temper guide covers the rest.
What 1100 aluminum is used for
- Deep drawing and spinning of pots and steamers (Cookware: 1050 / 1100 O)
- Heat shields, insulation, drawn parts (Automotive and transportation: 1100 O / H14)
- Cladding, insulation and architectural details (Construction: 1100 H14)
- Trays, molds and non-round parts (Cookware: 1100 / 3003 blanks)
- Line coil for slitting and distribution (Service centers and re-rollers: 1050 / 1100 / 3003 / 3105)

Frequently asked questions
What is 1100 aluminum?
It is aluminum with 99.00% minimum purity and 0.05 to 0.20% copper, per The Aluminum Association. It is the most ductile alloy Almexa makes, conducts heat well and resists corrosion, with low mechanical strength.
What sizes of 1100 aluminum does Almexa make?
Coil from 0.0177 to 0.1575 in (0.45 to 4.0 mm) and 6.30 to 48 in wide; sheet from 0.0197 to 0.1575 in, up to 48 × 120 in; and circles from 0.0220 to 0.1575 in and 5.51 to 48 in in diameter, per the September 2026 technical sheet.
Which 1100 temper is used for deep drawing?
O temper, annealed, the softest. Cookware and steamers that are deep drawn or spun use 1050 or 1100 in O. If the part is formed little and needs some stiffness, H14.
How much does 1100 aluminum sheet weigh?
Its density is 2.71 g/cm³ (0.098 lb/in³) per The Aluminum Association: 0.040 in sheet weighs about 0.56 lb per square foot. It is the same density the site's weight calculator uses.
