1945

Company founded; ALMEXA comes from the merger of the Mexican subsidiaries of ALCAN and REYNOLDS; Aluminio Industrial Mexicano, S.A. de C.V. starting with the production of Aluminum foil.

IMASA was founded; Industria Mexicana del Aluminio S.A de C.V., quickly becoming a leading company in the manufacture and marketing of Aluminum in Mexico and Central America.

2000

Almexa Aluminio, S.A. de C.V. brings together leading companies in the industrial and construction sector to provide comprehensive solutions with great technology in its different sectors, achieving greater participation in different markets.

Grupo Vasconia, S.A.B. enters the industry. Grupo Vasconia, S.A.B., acquires IMASA incorporating into the Aluminum Rolling Industry.

2007
2012

ALMEXA & IMASA merge. Grupo Vasconia, S.A.B. acquires ALMEXA through its subsidiary IMASA and becomes the largest rolling mill in Hispanic America.

ALMEXA being #1 in Flat Rolled Aluminum in Latin America, opens its third plant at Bruno Pagliai Industrial Park in Veracruz, MEXICO, which allows ALMEXA to enter new markets such as the automotive body in white, among others.

2020

Now with the new Veracruz facility ALMEXA competes with any of the mills in North America. And has the industrial footprint required to dominate the automotive body-in-white market in Mexico, while also being competitive in B&C.
